Mike Leavitt’s Art Army: Custom-Made Action Figures for Art Geeks

Andre the Giant has a posse. So does artist and toymaker Mike Leavitt. He rolls with Audry Kawasaki and Banksy, Vincent Van Gogh and Conan O’Brien, Jackson Pollock and Ghostface Killah, just to name a few.

Leavitt’s homemade action figure series called the Art Army is populated with artists and performers from David Lynch to Redman. Each figure is made by hand and made to order. They ain’t cheap, though. With many of these little heroes priced between $600 and $1000, you could easily drop a rent check on just one (I’m thinking my wife would understand, though… right?).
