For those who don’t know, Shorpy the 100-Year-Old Photo Blog is a great place to get lost for a few hours looking at brilliant pictures of yesteryear.

The World War II gallery, in particular, houses an impressively generous group of photos of airmen and antique planes and machine guns. What really sticks out, though, are all the fantastic shots of the women who took up the fight at home and flooded the factories to build those powerful war machines.

    Yeah, I was very impressed. I don’t know much about photography- it’s possible these have been colored. Still, very cool.
