My river of love for Isabella Rossellini runs deep. I don’t remember how old I was when I first saw Blue Velvet, but I remember being turned on and scared shitless at the same time. I’m all grown up now, but imagine my surprise when those same feelings resurfaced with Rossellini’s latest series of short films for the Sundance Channel.
That’s right. Actress, director and legendary cinema icon Isabella Rossellini was commissioned by the Sundance Channel last year to create a series of small-screen film shorts to be released for display on mobile phones. The 8-part series titled Green Porno is shot with a cartoon-esque children’s theater feel with each film featuring Rossellini as a different insect having sex.
If you’re waiting for the punchline, there isn’t one….
Green Porno is due to be aired on the Sundance Channel, with some of the shorts being featured at both the Sundance Film Festival and the Berlinale International Film Festival in Berlin this year.
